James dela Cruz
James dela Cruz graduated with a B.Eng. in Engineering Physics from the University of Saskatchewan in 2014 and has continued his education in courses Accelerators for Medical Applications organized by the CERN Accelerator School in Europe. He began working at the Canadian Light Source (CLS) in 2012 as a student in the Accelerator Operations and Development (AOD) Department, mainly operating the accelerators and running simulations. Upon graduating, James was hired full time to work in the AOD Department as an Accelerator Physicist on the Medical Isotope Project (MIP) at the CLS. As a member of the MIP team, he provides routine operational support of the MIP equipment and is involved in the safe handling, production, and shipping of the medical isotopes produced by the MIP facility. More recently he has gained experience with FLUKA: which is software that simulates the interaction and transport of particles in matter.
As an employee of CII, James is excited in contributing to the world supply of medical isotopes and to the company’s success.
